Feb. 16, 2009 Three Years Old!

No seriously, who is this big kid?
It's me! On the day of my birthday party. Mom was in China on my actual birthday, so Dad and I went to Organ Stop Pizza with just us. I loved my special bonding time with Dad. When Mom got home we had a party at the park with more pizza, my cousins, and Tate and Jack McDowell. boy was it fun!

I LOVE TO SWING!!

Feb. 10, 2009 Where's Mommy's Baby Boy

He's gone.

This is what I am now...A BIG BOY WITH A BIG BOY BED!!!!
Excited...
REALLY excited...

See ya later!

We were just going to get a nice white toddler bed so it would continue to match my room, but I saw this fireman bed -which I FELL IN LOVE WITH, at my friend Tate's house. When Tate grew out of it, his parents gave it to us! I couldn't be more excited!!!

Mom and Dad turned the lock around on my door, and locked it from the outside. (Mom's still worried to death about me getting out, wandering the house, and getting hurt without anyone knowing) Then told me if they heard me out of bed and playing in my room, I would lose my "big boy bed" privilege and be back in my crib. They also bought a timer and hooked my little lamp to it. They set it to turn on at 7:00. When, AND ONLY WHEN, the light goes on, I can call for Mom and Dad. Before that, I should stay and play in my cool bed. Sure enough, right on the dot, I was not only calling, but knocking loudly on the door. It was SO cute...at least the first time!

Jan 27, 2009 Another funny Conversation

Jaxon: I don't want to go to Sonic! I want to go home and eat a Hot Pocket!
Mom: Should I just leave you on the side of the road?
Jaxon: Yes! Leave me, Leave me!
M: But what if someone took you and I never got to see you again? I would be so sad I would cry forever!
J: What man mom? What man would take me?
M: A wicked man, who would steal you away. (Wicked is one of my new favorite words!)
J: Umm...Laman and Lemuel?
M: Kind of like Laman and Lemuel...
J: Umm...Mom...don't worry...they'll just stay in the video!

Jan 24, 2009 Me and My Mommy

Behold, Mom's two new favorite pictures of us! I don't know my Aunt Emily did...but look at the genuine smile on my face...and I am not even squirming to get away from me!!! This is from our fantastic trip to the zoo yesterday. It was PERFECT weather...about 68 degrees and overcast. It was pretty empty- so I, Hailey, and Katie loved it. Hailey and I do pester each other to no end (read: a 10 minute arguement about why Hailey wouldn't give Jaxon back his non-existant airplane) but we are also apparently madly in love and going to be married!

Jan 22, 2009- Little China Man

Today Mom took some pictures of me and my cousins in our outfits she sent from China. At first Mom thought it looked down-right ridiculous, but the more I wore it, the more handsome she thought I looked. I guess I make any thing look good! We went for Pizza with my cousins right after pictures, so Mom and Dad just left me in the outfit. For a few minutes Mom couldn't figure out why I was getting so many weird looks, usually she hears people whispering what a beautiful little guy I am! Then she remembered...I was still wearing my China outfit-- OOPS!

This first one- seriously? That pose, what is that? Captain America...err...China?

Jan. 21, 2009 Croquet- OKAY!!

Today we played "o-kay" in the backyard as a family. I think that I really love croquet, but the truth is, I just love playing with dad. We actually play very little croquet, but do a lot of wrestling, falling down, and throwing me up in the air. Dad lost his job the week before Christmas this year, and it has been a little hard on Mom and Dad. It HAS NOT been hard on me. I am a Daddy's boy now more than ever, and Mom does not know what on earth she is going to do when when Dad goes back to work and leaves me home...heaven help us! As you can see in these pictures, I love to rough-house with Dad. He is my best bud, and he makes me laugh like no one else!

Do you think he might really love his dad?

I just noticed that the clouds move... amazing!

Jan. 18, 2009 Not Feelin' So Hot...

Today I woke up at 4:45am crying hysterically. This happened last night when I went to bed really late after playing with my cousins, and Dad let me have a sippy in bed. (Which normally NEVER happens) so mom figured I just woke up and was going to ask for another sippy, to which she was going to say "NO WAY!" She came in and talked to me, and rocked me, and sure enough, I asked for a sippy. She said no, sang me one more song, and told me to go back to sleep, because even if I cried, she was not coming back in until it was time to wake up. Well, I cried for the next 1/2 hour (until about 5:20) and eventually cried myself to sleep. Mom thought for sure I would sleep in because that would have made me so tired, but wrong! I was crying again at 6:15 so she got me up and we went downstairs to watch Cailloo before getting ready for church. I was begging for a sippy so she gave me some red gatorade. ( I call it "Gator Gator") I quickly drank a whole sippy and asked for another. Just as mom was bringing it back from the kitchen, I threw up that red gator gator ALL OVER the couch. Oh Man! I hate throwing up, and mom hates cleaning it up. We got through it okay, but me and mom had to skip church and nursery, which made me sad! I was going to bring a loaf of whole wheat bread to my teacher Sister Martin, whom I love! I seem to be feeling better now, but we will see how nap time goes...

We are now back from dinner and playing with Tyler, AM, and Katie, and Emily, Ryan, Peyton, and Hailey. I really love those girls, but they sure tattle on me a lot! I am a boys boy, and some times I like to wrestle, push etc...and they don't appreciate it one bit. I do have both of them in a tizzy though, because both really want to "marry" me, and I am wishy-washy about which one I want to marry. It just depends what mood I'm in, and who is being nicer to me. Today I wanted to go find Peyton to play, but Hailey grabbed my shirt and wouldn't let me go. She said, "NO! You can't go, you're married to ME!" I said, "I don't wanna marry YOU! I wanna marry Peyton." to which Hailey burst into tears sobbing, "Jaxon doesn't want to marry me!" Later though, I guess I changed my mind because we were dancing together (like holding hands and hug dancing) while Hailey sang the Snow white song. Then we laid a blanket down and laid down and snuggled- it was cute but Mom thinks we probably better have a talk about laying down with girls, even if they are my cousins!

Jan 15, 2009 Hurray for Cousins

Yesterday Tyler, AnnaMarie, and Katie all came over to hang out and have dinner. They are just in town for the month doing medical rotations, and we are really having fun with them so close! Dad and Tyler were grilling, so Katie and I were playing in the backyard. I was getting a little bored, so Mom pulled out some old Christmas storage boxes we were going to throw away and put them in the middle of the grass. She then said, "Jaxon, HURRY! Come get in your Toboggan...or is it a space ship??" I hurried out to the backyard, looked at the box, looked at mom, looked back at the box and then jammed my little fists onto my hips. I said, "MOM! THAT is a box! That is JUST A BOX!" Everyone thought that was pretty funny, but Uncle Tyler took matters into his own hands to prove me wrong. He plopped me in the box, hooked a toy golf club through the handle hole, and started pulling me around the backyard at full speed. He would often dump me out on purpose, which I thought was hilarious. I was loving every minute. Eventually the handle would rip open and we would move to another box. By the time dinner was ready we had been through 4 boxes and Uncle Tyler was WORN OUT! What a great time!

Dad the super Griller! (And Notice...it's January, and we're wearing shorts!)

Pie and Cousins! 1-14-08

I seem to have switched my obsession with Backyardigans back to an obsession with Cailloo. Dad REALLY wishes I would switch back, but I don't know why! This morning Cailloo's dad made apple pie, and Dad said, "YUmmm, I sure wish I had some apple pie!" Believe me, he did NOT say that with any idea that Mom might actually make one. She tried making him some pies for his December birthday...and disaster doesn't even begin to cover it... she vowed to Grandma Rogers over Christmas break that she would never make another pie as long as she lived. Oh well, she actually decided to make Dad his beloved apple pie- it was a SUCCESS!!
As an added bonus, she convinced Aunt Emily with Hailey, and Aunt AnnaMarie with Katie to come over, let the kids play, and make a pie of their own! I went to sleep an hour late last night, and didn't sleep duringmy nap today (I seems to talk through about everyone other one...I think this is a dreaded sign of 'dropping the nap' ) and I was a little (lot) cranky! Dispite my timeouts at least 75% of the time my cousins were over, we all had a great time!!

Mom's pie- YUMMY YUMMY!!!

I mistakenly thought that if I tethered myself to the chair, Mom wouldn't make me move when she wanted to sit down!

HELLO 2009! 1-10-09

WOW! It's already 2009, and I am one month away from being 3. I talk more like a 5 year old, so I crack Mom and Dad up everyday! Last night mom came in to tuck me into to bed (AGAIN!) She tucked me in at 7:30, but heard a loud crash at 8:30 and came in to see what was going on. I had been playing in my crib, and somehow feel and hit my head. I had also moved my pillow and all my animal friends around, so mom just put my pillow on the opposite side of the crib that it normally goes on, and tried to tuck me in again! I said to her, "Mom! Dat's on the wrong side! That doesn't make ANY SENSE AT ALL!" Mom just couldn't stop laughing, because what 2 year old says that? ME, of course!
